Mount Teine's reinforced-concrete luge course hosted the men's, women's and doubles events at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. Its 1,023 m course had 14 curves and dropped 101 m, and construction cost 277 million yen. After the Games it hosted citizens' races. The course was removed in December 1985, and its site became a ski slope at Teine Olympia.
- It cost 277 million yen, against 433 million for the bob track beside it.
- All three Olympic luge events of 1972 were decided here.
Today
The course site is a ski slope; an Olympic cauldron still stands above the former start.
