Mount Van Hoevenberg near Lake Placid has had a bob run since Christmas Day 1930, and earlier tracks here served the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. The present combined track for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton was completed in January 2000. It has since hosted World Championships in all three sports, most recently the bobsleigh and skeleton Worlds in 2025. It was also the standby venue for the 2026 Olympics, though it was not needed.
- The original 1930 run had 26 curves over 2,366 m.
- A sequence of curves in its upper half is called Devil's Highway.
- The old Olympic bob run was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
Today
A refrigerated track of 20 curves in the Adirondack woods, with junior starts and two start ramps for luge training.
