Igls sits on the slopes above Innsbruck and has hosted two Winter Olympics. The 1964 Games used separate bob and luge runs, but for 1976 the site gained one refrigerated track, the first built new for both bobsleigh and luge and the first Olympic track the two shared; skeleton came later. It has since staged World Championships in all three sports and the 2012 Youth Olympics. A costly rebuild of the lower section in 2024 and 2025 left luge waiting for fresh approval.
- The 1976 Olympic track was the first built new for both bobsleigh and luge, and the first Olympic track the two shared.
- Its Kreisel is a 270-degree turn in older figures and a 360-degree turn by the operator's count today.
- The lower section was rebuilt over 20 months for about 30 million euros, then failed luge approval twice in November 2025.
Today
