The story

The Yanqing National Sliding Centre was built in Beijing's Yanqing District between 2018 and 2020 for the 2022 Winter Olympics, and is nicknamed the House of Speed. At those Games it staged every sliding event, including the first Olympic women's monobob race. China has kept it on the international calendar since, with a five-year World Cup agreement in bobsleigh and skeleton and luge World Cups in 2025 and 2026.

  • Women's monobob made its Olympic debut here in 2022.
  • Construction took a little over two years, from July 2018 to November 2020.
  • The luge World Cup season ended here in February 2025.
