Weißenbach bei Liezen, in Styria, began building this luge run on the Bacherleiten slope in 1957, and racing followed from 1958. It held the junior European Championships in 1959, gained a sled lift in 1960 and hosted the 1962 European Luge Championships in men's, women's and doubles. In 1967 the lift was replaced by a new one reserved for skiing.
