The story

Bautzen's luge run sits at Kupferhammer in Upper Lusatia. A concrete track was built there in 1987, in East Germany, to replace a natural-ice run from 1984, and it opened in November 1989. At 260 m with six curves it is a training ground for young lugers rather than a World Cup venue. The local club, SG Bautzen Nord, runs it and stages regional youth races.

  • The run opened on 9 November 1989.
  • Races start from a point 200 m up the track.

Today
