The story

When this track opened in 1925, Szklarska Poręba was the German resort of Schreiberhau, in Silesia's Giant Mountains. It hosted the European luge championships in 1928 and the two-man bobsleigh World Championships in 1933. The last race on record was held in January 1939, and after 1945 the town became part of Poland, which put the old track on the Polish side of the range.

  • It hosted the two-man bobsleigh World Championships in 1933.
  • The European luge championships came here in 1928.

Today

A September 2020 field survey found the channel still readable for most of its length, with stone protections on the upper bends and the lower part overgrown.
